At some point in our woodworking "career", every woodworker either thinks about building -- or does
build -- a cradle for a special little one.As we all know, however, thinking about building something and actually
building it are two different things. Many beginning and intermediate woodworkers and crafters have the skills and tools necessary, but simply lack the furniture design and construction technique knowledge needed to complete
the project. Cradles are not that difficult to build. If you have a table saw, a hand-held jig saw or band saw, a few clamps, and a handful of other common tools, you are well on your way to making that dream of building a
useful heirloom cradle. |

If you're really serious about building a cradle, but don't know where to begin. . .use a woodworking
project plan. Our sponsor website has many woodworking plans for cradle projects.IMPORTANT TIP: Whenever gifting a woodworking project to a child, especially a cradle or crib, allow the stain to set for at
least 20 days. . .preferably in a well-ventilated garage. The vapors and fumes from the stain can hang around for longer than you think!! |
